Interview Story - Above and Beyond
Once while I was delivering a product to my customer, while working at Sysco of Toronto, I found out that the customer accidentally pressed the wrong code and ordered the wrong product. As a result, he got a different product but he really needed the product that was not ordered. The only option was to wait until the next day. But he really needed the product urgently, because he was entirely out of stock. Unfortunately, there was nobody at customer service to help, as it was already after hours and they were closed.
I could have easily told him to wait until tomorrow. But I knew that the next customer who I was going to deliver to had an order for this same. product. So I called the next customer to find out if it’s ok for them to get the product tomorrow instead of that day. They agreed as that product was in stock.
As a result, I was able to satisfy all the customers involved. I also emailed the office about the whole scenario, and the paperwork was then done correctly.
