How to avoid appearing aggressive (or passive) during a job interview.
The best way to come across in your interview, is to convey how excited you are about the opportunity. Be happy, positive, and energetic about the role without looking hungry or desperate. Simply smiling and feeling happy while in your interview is the best attitude to have. And it will keep you from looking aggressive, desperate or uninterested in the role.
Sitting up straight, with planted feet and consistent eye contact, suggests you are confident. If you slouch, shrink back in your chair or avoid eye contact, you'll be viewed as meek or passive. On the other hand, if you talk over the interviewer, seem argumentative, and speak poorly of your ex-colleagues or bosses, you'll come across as aggressive and negative.
So greet your interviewer with a firm handshake and a smile. Make eye contact and give them your undivided attention. Avoid negative emotions or sounding defensive. And use your body language to express confidence, enthusiasm, and determination.
