What is the recommended dress code? (How to dress for an interview)
Dress For Success: Dressing up for an interview is all about matching their company culture. If the company feels corporate, then a suit and tie is the way to go (even if the recruiter or hiring manager is dressed casually). If the vibe is more casual, plain t-shirt with casual pants, then business casual should be your aim.
Look through their website, social media, and LinkedIn and note company photos or snapshots of their offices. Use their apparel as a starting point and remember that being overdressed, is better than being underdressed.
Lastly, virtual interviews do not escape any of these rules. They require the same level of thought and attention to your outfit (also, wear pants - you never know if you’ll need to suddenly stand up).
