Addressing Disabilities

A hiring manager has strict rules against discriminating against physical disabilities, as we're sure you are aware. So they can only truthfully inquire if you are capable of performing the duties that are required. Be honest about your capabilities and have experiences in your back pocket that can prove you are more than able to complete the tasks that will be asked of you.

The best thing you can do is to have work history proving your capabilities. If you have held similar roles, make sure to have detailed stories about your accomplishments.

Some interviewers may have prejudices, but ultimately, you wouldn't want to join a company that devalues their employees with circumstances like yours anyhow. So although you may feel the initial sting of rejection, you'll feel much better knowing that you didn't get hired by individuals who judge anything other than merit. And you'll be even more grateful to land the right opportunity when it arrives.

Additionally, consider networking and take a different approach to finding suitable, available jobs. Tap into the hidden job market in order to bypass the possibility of getting judged by your "cover".
