When should I mention to the employer about my disability?
This varies by the individual. For some folks, never disclose if they don't need to. Others it's recommended before accepting an offer to make sure that any accommodation would be reasonable for that employer. Others may want to disclose upfront. Companies who do provide government contracts can see disabilities as plus, so in this case, disclosing earlier can be better.
For others, it's recommended not calling it a disability, but just a trait when the interviewer takes notice of it.
Like, "I noticed you spotted my arm is in a brace. I hurt my arm some time back, though the good news is it doesn't get in the way of day to day performance."
Or, "I noticed you could hear that I have a funny way of pronouncing some words. It's just something I do and can't really change, though the good news is it doesn't get in the way of day to day performance."
